Tony and Anna Williams will again be presenting the Robertson Community Technology Centre cinema program for 2011. Tony Williams, film director, will give talks on the films to be screened.

This academy award-nominated documentary looks at the devastation across America caused by similar activities. LOVE ON THE RUN
Tony Williams discusses the working relationship between new wave director Francois Truffaut and actor Jean Pierre-Leaud. Truffaut discovered Leaud when he was 14 and starred him in the movie The 400 Blows. As Leaud grew older, Truffaut made three more films with Leaud. When Leaud was 34, Truffaut made Love on the Run. For this film Truffaut developed a story that combined his previous three Leaud films as flashbacks.

SHINE with guest speaker Geoffrey Simpson
- one of Australia's best cinematographers is coming to Robertson to discuss the making of his film Shine!
Geoffrey Simpson has shot numerous successful films, including Shine, Under the Tuscan Sun, Fried Green Tomatoes, Little Women, Green Card, Oscar and Lucinda, Life, and dozens more. Geoffrey won Best Cinematographer of the Year with SHINE and will introduce the film and talk about the making of this wonderful production.
SHINE won an Academy Award for Geoffrey Rush and was nominated for 6 other Academy Awards. SHINE won 9 AFI Awards. SHINE won awards at BAFTA, Golden Globe, Directors Guild of America, Film Critics Circle of Australia, London Critics Circle, New York Critics Circle, and many, many more.
SHINE is the last film in this year's 'Meet The Filmmaker' series run by Director Tony Williams at the CTC Robertson so don't miss it!

Tim White, producer of Map of the Human Heart, Oscar and Lucinda, Ned Kelly and many other feature films, will introduce his film, The Boys Are Back. Tim is also the former head of Mel Gibson's Fox-Icon Studio.
Clive Owen plays Joe Warr, a widower raising his young son alone in Australia, and trying to juggle parenting responsibilities with a career in sports journalism. The picture is tenderly directed by Scott Hicks (Shine).

Mao to Mozart, part II, plus Bernstein records West Side Story
Isaac Stern returns to China 20 years after his first trip in the 1970s which inspired the documentary Mao to Mozart. The same film crew follow Stern in the 1990s to see what has happened to the young musicians he met on his first trip.
Leonard Bernstein makes a recording of West Side Story with Carreras and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa– Some brilliant and fiery interactions between the Maestro and the singers.
