Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training
The CTC Robertson has received funding under the Wingecarribee ClubGRANTS Program to be able to offer a subsidised Mental Health First Aid course for residents of the Robertson community.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training teaches participants practical skills to support someone with a mental health problem. About 1 in 5 Australian adults experience a common mental illness each year. Having people skilled in mental health first aid can make a real difference to people in our community.
Over two days participants will learn practical first aid skills:
  • Recognise common mental health problems
  • Provide initial help using a practical, evidence based Action Plan
  • Seek appropriate professional help, and
  • Respond in a crisis situation.
This is a 12 hour educational course, not a therapy or support group.
The course will be delivered by accredited Mental Health First Aid Instructor Annette Tesoriero.
Participants are also able to undertake an online assessment after the course if they wish to become an accredited Mental Health First Aider.
More information about Mental Health First Aid can be found at mhfa.com.au
